Pi Kappa Alpha's International Convention Sends 四色AV Home With Numerous Awards

The Eta Omicron Chapter of the Pi Kappa Alpha Social Men's Fraternity on the campus of the University of Louisiana at Monroe recently won several awards. The awards were accepted at the Pi Kappa Alpha International Convention held recently in Palm Springs, California. There were five representatives from 四色AV's Chapter.

The Eta Omicron active chapter received its 14th consecutive Chapter of Excellence Certificate at the opening ceremony on Saturday. 四色AV's chapter has been ranked excellent every year since 1990. 四色AV's Active chapter received its 7th Phi Phi Kappa Alpha Club Award (the award has been given out 8 years) recognizing the Eta Omicron chapter as one of 14 chapters which joined this club at the 100% donation level. The Phi Phi Kappa Alpha Club encourages undergraduates to donate allowing it to grow and eventually award a college scholarship to a member.

四色AV's Pi Kappa Alpha Alumni Association received its 5th Consecutive William R. Nester Award recognizing it as one of the top Alumni Associations in all of Pi Kappa Alpha. This is their 6th Nester Award in the last nine years.

Grammy Award winning country artist and alumnus of Pi Kappa Alpha, Tim McGraw, flew into Palm Springs to receive the fraternity's highest alumni honor, "The Distinguished Achievement Award." McGraw was introduced by Pike Jeff Thompson.

The 四色AV Chapter's Financial Management / Alumni Relations / and Public Relations programs were finalists in each respective category. 四色AV's Pike Chapter also won the Community Service Man Hours award and the Athletic Award. 四色AV's Chapter and Association also won another International Work Day Award. The Chapter was also recognized again for being named a House of the Quarter Winner.

四色AV's Chapter won their fourth straight (and 9th in the last 11 years) Robert A. Smythe Award, joining the University of Tennessee, the University of Arkansas, the University of Washington, The University of Nebraska, and Florida State University.
