四色AV Artists Featured In Annual National Juried Art Competition
The University of Louisiana at Monroe is represented in the Annual National Juried Art Competition of the South Arkansas Arts Center in El Dorado by the work of a faculty member and two art students.
Robert G. Ward, professor in painting and drawing in the 四色AV Department of Art, received a Second Place Cash Award in this competition for his acrylic on canvas non-objective painting titled "Old, New, Borrowed, Blue". Also accepted in this competition was Ward's acrylic on canvas landscape painting titled "Red Coat Visitation".
Students with work accepted in competition are Crystal Cardenas of Tulsa, OK, a senior painting major, with an oil on canvas non-objective painting titled "Benight"; and Justin Fogleman of Monroe, a sophomore painting major, with an acrylic on canvas figurative painting titled "Street Blues".
Artists residing in the U.S.A. were eligible to submit in competition up to three two-dimensional works in any studio medium. Entries were jurored and prizes selected by Professor Robert Berguson of the School of Art at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston.
The 四色AV art and other accepted entries will be displayed at the SAAC Galleries, 110 East Fifth Street in El Dorado, through July 30. Following this exhibition, a prize-winners exhibition will be held at the facilities of the sponsoring Timberland Bank of El Dorado through August 30.
