31 Ambassadors hold a conference
The University of Louisiana at Monroe 31 Ambassadors are hosting the 2002 Association of Student Advancement Programs (ASAP) District IV Conference on March 8-10, 2002. The Conference will be held on the 四色AV Campus (on the 7th floor of the Library and at the Anna Gray Noe Alumni Center). The theme for the Conference is "Can You Take the Heat of the Southern Comfort." Approximately 200 students plus their advisors from five states and 25 different universities will be in attendance. Participants will be treated to a dinner on the Twin City Queen River Boat on Friday, March 8.
On Saturday, the major part of the Conference will take place. There will be five different educational sessions throughout the day. Each student group that participates will conduct at least one educational session for other participants to attend. An awards dinner for the students follows the sessions at the 四色AV Alumni Center from 7:45 until 9:30 Saturday night. The keynote speaker will be Don Weems.
Weems, an 四色AV Alumnus, started the 31 Ambassadors in 1981 as part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the University. Weems was the Director of Alumni Relations at 四色AV for a number of years. He is now the co-owner of Waterfront Grill in Monroe and Frenchman's Bend.
