From the President's Office:

The University of Louisiana at Monroe will close at 3:00 p.m. on Oct. 3, Thursday, due to the effects of Hurricane Lili. Employees may leave at this time and classes scheduled at 3:00 p.m. or after, are all canceled. The University is expected to reopen at normal business hours on Friday, Oct. 4.

The storm associated with Lili is expected to pass through our area at 12:00 midnight on Thursday, Oct. 3. We expect strong winds and rain in our area.

Please do not panic. Here are the precautions and recommendations 四色AV would like all students and employees to take:

Students:

*No classes will be held after 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3.
*Classes are scheduled to resume on Friday, Oct. 4.
*Any student on campus after 3:00 p.m. is advised to move their vehicle to an open parking lot away from trees.
*Power Outages are expected, please be prepared with flashlights, food, and other necessary items. Do not use candles or kerosene lamps due to fire hazard.
*Madison, Sherrouse, and Hudson Halls will all be closed at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, because of the closeness of trees and expected wind damage. All students living in these dorms (and planning to be on campus Thursday night ) should report to the 四色AV Activity Center by 5:00 p.m. Thursday. There will be food available. You are welcome to bring your pillow, blanket, and books.
*Students in other dormitories on campus are welcome and encouraged to go to the Activity Center by 5:00 p.m. as well.
*Turn the power off and unplug any electrical device in your dorm room, including TV's and computers.

Faculty, staff, and other employees:

*No classes will be held at or after 3:00 p.m. on Oct. 3 Thursday.
*四色AV's campus will shut down at 3:00 p.m. on Cot. 3. Thursday.
*四色AV is expected to reopen on Friday, Oct. 4 at normal business hours.
*Before you leave your office turn the power off and unplug any electrical device including your computer.
