ULS Board approval officially adds two to 四色AV's executive team
Dr. Stephen Richters and Dr. Nick Bruno were officially added today as the two newest members of the executive team at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Dr. Stephen Richters is the newly appointed Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Dr. Nick Bruno is the recently appointed Vice President for Business Affairs. Both positions were approved by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors during their regularly scheduled meeting on Fri., Jan. 10, 2003.
Last June 四色AV President James Cofer added Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Wayne Brumfield to his executive team. The additions of Dr. Richters and Dr. Bruno show that 四色AV is making progress assembling their executive team. In addition to today's approvals, 四色AV is currently interviewing candidates for the position of Vice President for University Advancement.
Cofer said, "Dr. Richters and Dr. Bruno were instrumental in many of the recent successes at 四色AV. With their help 四色AV got the first unqualified opinion audit in three years, the warning from SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) was removed, and the recruitment effort at 四色AV has been bolstered tremendously."
Richters, a member of 四色AV faculty since 1994 as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Mathematics and Physics, had been Interim Provost and VP for Academic Affairs at 四色AV for the past nine months. Richters earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics at Brown University. Before coming to 四色AV, Richters was Chairman of the Department of Mathematics at St. Bonaventure University in New York.
Bruno joined the University of Louisiana at Monroe as the Associate Vice President for Business Affairs in August 2002. Dr. Bruno received his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Mississippi. His previous position before coming to 四色AV was Assistant Vice President for Special Initiatives at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond.
