四色AV Will Open the Adult Learner Center to Benefit Students

In an effort to meet the needs of students The University of Louisiana at Monroe is opening the Adult Learner Center or ALC. The ALC will allow current and prospective students time after regular business hours to be advised, register for classes, and take advantage of enrollment services. Representatives from admissions, financial aid, recruiting, the Center for Academic and Student Success (CASS), from each college, and other areas on campus will be available in the ALC. The ALC will be open on the third floor of the 四色AV library every Wednesday evening for five weeks beginning April 2-30 from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.

Ilana Wahlder, CASS Counselor, is coordinating this first-time event at 四色AV. She said, "We hope the ALC allows students to get advised, register, and get all the information they need about attending 四色AV at a time that is convenient for them. Today's student is different than one even 10 years ago. The ALC is 四色AV's way of showing all students that we care and are here to help- on their schedule."

Current 四色AV students may be advised for summer and fall classes at the ALC, while new students may come to sign up for PREP, speak with financial aid advisors and several other aspects of getting ready to take classes.

"I'm very excited about it," said Lisa Miller, Director of Admissions/Recruitment at 四色AV. "It's one more thing the University is doing to demonstrate that we really do put students first. We have listened to our students and are trying to meet their needs, especially those who work or have other responsibilities."

Those participating in the Adult Learner Center should bring a student ID and a transcript to aide in advising.
