四色AV Art Fraternity Displays work at local Coffee House and Salon
Kappa Pi, honorary art fraternity at the University of Lousiana
at Monroe, is currently displaying a members-only juried competition
at the Cottonport Coffee House, 405 Natchitoches Street in West
Monroe.
Submitted works were jurored by local artist Kristy Caldwell,
who curated the exhibition to include the following: an oil painting
by Jennifer Clark of Mer Rouge; a steel and wood sculpture by
Brooke Foy of West Monroe, a silver print photograph by Sarah
Kelly of Bastrop; a charcoal drawing and a lithograph by Melissa
Lee of New Orleans; a silver print photograph by Natalie Newton
of Slidell; an acrylic painting by April Parks of Rayville; two
sculptures by Renee Parnell of West Monroe; a sculpture by Stephanie
Poche of Monroe; a sculpture by Rebekah Savage of Monroe; a silver
print photograph by Michele Smith of Oak Grove; and two acrylic
paintings by Kathleen Tumey of Monroe.
Simultaneously, the membership of Kappa Pi is showing an invitational
group exhibition at L'Evasion Salon, 1416 North 18th Street in
Monroe. Participating in this exhibition are Jennifer Clark
of Mer Rouge with an acrylic painting; Brooke Foy of West Monroe
with an acrylic painting; John Paul Jenkins of Ruston with an
oil painting; Melissa Lee of New Orleans with a lithograph; April
Parks of Rayville with two acrylic paintings; Stephanie Poche
of Monroe with a lithograph and a pastel drawing; Angela Rankin
of West Monroe with an acrylic painting; Rebekah Savage of Monroe
with a lithograph and a wooden sculpture; Michele Smith of Oak
Grove with three drawings and a mixed media piece; and Kathleen
Tumey of Monroe with a welded steel sculpture and three acrylic
paintings.
Both exhibitions will be on view until the close of the fall
semester. Kappa Pi is advised by Professor Cliff Tresner.
