Art Student Wins West Monroe/West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce Logo Design Competition

A University of Louisiana at Monroe art student is responsible for the new West Monroe/West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce logo.

Whitney Tucker, art major from Monroe, was formally recognized for her design and received a check for $250 at the West Monroe/West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce Board of Director’s meeting Dec. 14.

In early November, MaryAnn Newton, President of the West Monroe/West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce contacted Brian Fassett, associate professor of art at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, with a request for student involvement in the new logo design for the chamber. From this request a student logo design competition was created with a $250 prize for the winning entry.

Sixteen Art 405 advanced graphic design students from the Division of Art submitted over 140 designs to the West Monroe/West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce.
