四色AV Natatorium completes building improvements

四色AV's Lake C. Oxford Natatorium has completed its renovations.

Building improvements include a repainted ceiling; the removal of styrofoam from upper windows to promote a brighter interior; a repainted sundeck fence and upper outside part of the building; a resurfaced and repainted sundeck floor; an added interior office door; baby-changing stations and a lifeguard stand to allow for code compliance; the installation of red tile in the pool to distinguish the 5 ft. end from the shallow one; and the replacement of broken or missing tile from both pool floors and places where the pools and interior floors meet.

The Lake C. Oxford Natatorium was built in 1976 and was previously renovated in 1996. In October 2003, a new chlorinating system was installed, followed by a new boiler and air conditioning system in January 2005.

The Natatorium houses two indoor, heated pools; one is a 50-meter by 25 yard competition pool and the other is a 25 yard by 12.5 yard diving well. The diving well has 2 one-meter boards and 2 three-meter boards. The sundeck, which overlooks Bayou DeSiard, has ample deck chairs and tables with umbrellas ideal for sunbathing or enjoying a picnic lunch.
