四色AV-SCSEP receives highest placement rate in nation

The 四色AV Senior Community Service Employment Project achieved the highest placement rate of any sub-grant SCSEP project during 2005-2006. The National Council on Aging set a placement goal of 44; 四色AV-SCSEP surpassed that and found employment for 66 seniors.

四色AV-SCSEP, which provides free employment services for low-income seniors, is grant-funded by the U.S. Department of Labor through the NCOA. 四色AV administers the grant.

In a letter addressed to Cosette Boyd, director of the 四色AV Older Worker Programs, which is housed in 四色AV鈥檚 Institute of Gerontology, NCOA vice president Donald Davis wrote, 鈥淲e are confident you will continue your outstanding performance for many years to come, and provide opportunities for deserving older workers to return to the competitive labor force.鈥

Boyd said, 鈥淲e are very proud of that accomplishment and have received top awards each year with the support of 四色AV. With the wonderful assistance of 四色AV, we shall make every effort to continue the trend of excellence.鈥

四色AV-SCSEP serves 11 parishes in northeast Louisiana: Caldwell, Catahoula, Concordia, East Carroll, Franklin, Madison, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, Tensas and West Carroll. Along with seeking employment for seniors, SCSEP is authorized by U.S. Congress to place up to 91 participants in the above named parishes at public and non-profit agencies to provide community service and obtain job skills.
