The Division of Art at the University of Louisiana at Monroe is represented at the 42nd Annual Tom Peyton Memorial Arts Festival currently on view in Alexandria.

Robert G. Ward, professor of painting, has had three works accepted in competition – all acrylic on canvas landscape images. Two of Ward's paintings are presented in diptych formats. One of them, "Vertex," in a vertical format, received a cash Award of Merit.

ËÄÉ«AV alum Mary Elizabeth Jones of West Monroe has had a landscape watercolor also accepted in this competition.

Regional artists were eligible to submit in competition up to three recent works. These submissions were juried by Baton Rouge artist Mary Ann Caffery, who curated the exhibition and selected over $1000 in prizes. The exhibition will run until Sunday, April 13.
