ËÄÉ«AV and Delta Community College to host Louisiana College Goal Sunday Feb. 10

ËÄÉ«AV and Louisiana Delta Community College have the answer for students and their families trying to decipher the financial aid application process in order to attend college. Louisiana College Goal Sunday is a free event that will help you complete the application process in one afternoon.

Louisiana College Goal Sunday will occur in Monroe on Feb. 10 at 2 p.m. at Louisiana Delta Community College Coenen Building (4014 LaSalle St.—formerly 1201 Bayou Dr.).

This national initiative provides invaluable assistance and will give line-by-line assistance with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. One-on-one assistance from financial aid professionals will be available at the site.

Louisiana College Goal Sunday is sponsored by the Louisiana Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance, with funding from a Lumina Foundation for Education Grant.

Reasons to attend College Goal Sunday:

A college degree can mean the difference between just getting a job and building a career. College Goal Sunday is for all Louisiana high school seniors, their families, and also adults who need financial aid assistance for post-secondary education.

With more than $60 billion available in federal aid (according to the U.S. Department of Education), financial aid can make college a reality by helping to cover college expenses. To apply for state aid (TOPS, Go Grant) and federal aid (Pell Grant, Federal Work-Study, loans) you must complete the FAFSA. Computer labs will be open so that your electronic FAFSA can be completed and submitted on-site. Admissions criteria and information will also be available.

One scholarship drawing will be held at each location.
