Saulsberry named head of 四色AV's Department of Social Work
Dr. Pamela Saulsberry is now the permanent head of 四色AV's Department of Social Work, bringing over 30 years of experience during her career to the position.
Dr. Jeffrey Cass, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, expressed confidence in her placement at the department鈥檚 helm. 鈥淒r. Saulsberry has demonstrated this past semester all the fine qualities of leadership we seek in our heads of departments, and I have no doubt she will do a fine job of taking that group into the future.鈥
Saulsberry achieved her bachelor鈥檚 of art degree from Colorado State University (鈥72), her master鈥檚 of social work degree from the University of Denver (鈥73-鈥74), and her Ph.D. from Jackson State University (鈥03).
She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a LCSW Board-approved supervisor. She also holds a Louisiana Qualified School Social Work Certificate.
Among her many achievements, Saulsberry has been named a College of Liberal Arts Distinguished Faculty Member on multiple occasions, has been featured in Who鈥檚 Who Among American Teachers (鈥94), received the March of Dimes Outstanding Volunteer Certificate of Appreciation (鈥03), and was the Outstanding Business/Professional Women Recipient (鈥04). She also served as the president of the Board of Directors of the Northeast Louisiana Sickle Cell Foundation.
She is a well-respected professional author/administrator, social worker, presenter, and community advocate.
Saulsberry replaced Pat Melton, who made a decision to return to full-time teaching in the classroom.
