四色AV wins prestigious media awards

The University of Louisiana at Monroe has gathered an impressive array of media-related awards thus far in 2008.

At the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District IV conference in Little Rock, Ark., 四色AV garnered three awards. 四色AV competed against numerous other universities, including Dillard University, Sam Houston State University, the University of Oklahoma, and Louisiana State University.

In the 鈥淚nstitutional Identity Programs鈥 category, 四色AV won a pewter award for 鈥淎ce鈥檚 Adventures at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Ace Explores Campus.鈥 The 20-page activity book was distributed鈥攁t no cost鈥攖o private and public elementary schools in 15 northeastern Louisiana parishes last year.

The book contains age-appropriate activities aligned with state standards and is supported by a Web site that includes lesson plans for teachers and innovative online activities for students. The series is produced by the 四色AV鈥檚 Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Child Development Center, College of Education and Human Development, the College of Arts and Sciences, the Office of Student Life and Leadership, the Office of University Relations and Graphic Services.


The university scored a bronze in the 鈥淎lumni Program, Project or Special Event鈥 category for Wine Over Water, a spring celebration that began three years ago. The annual event, sponsored by the 四色AV Alumni Association and the Ouachita Parish Alumni Chapter, benefits university scholarships.



The College of Pharmacy magazine, produced by 四色AV鈥檚 College of Pharmacy, 鈥淟e Pharmacien Louisianais鈥 took home a bronze in the 鈥淢agazines 鈥 1 to 3 colors (excluding cover)鈥 category.





The Admissions Marketing Report announced the winners of the 23rd Annual Admissions Advertising Awards:

The 四色AV Magazine, produced by 四色AV University Relations and Zehno Cross Media Communications, won a GOLD award in the 鈥淧ublication External Schools w/ 5,000 - 9,999 Students鈥 category.

Lindsey Wilkerson, director of Web Services at 四色AV, praised everyone involved with the university鈥檚 magazine. 鈥漌e鈥檙e proud the 四色AV Magazine won a GOLD award. The 四色AV Magazine showcases excellence across a broad spectrum of this university 鈥 from students, academics, research, faculty, and alumni. They are the real 鈥榞old.鈥欌


The 四色AV Admissions Web Feature, produced by 四色AV Recruitment and Admissions and Zehno Cross Media Communications, won a bronze in the 鈥淣ew Media School w/ 5,000 - 9,999 Students鈥 category.

Awards and certificates were given to those entrants whose programs and materials displayed 鈥渆xceptional quality, creativity and message effectiveness,鈥 according to the Admissions Marketing Report Web site.


Also, in a separate competition:

Visix, Inc. chose 四色AV as the winner of its 2008 Expression Award for 鈥淏est Published AxisTV Policies,鈥 granting the honor 鈥渇or exceptional work in visual communications planning, creation and execution.鈥

AxisTV is a closed-circuit, on-campus communication system which uses flat-screen plasma monitors to broadcast important information to 四色AV students, faculty, and staff. Displays are located at various points around campus. AxisTv is managed by 四色AV's Office of University Relations.
