Incoming freshmen to join in Ace’s Amazing Race Aug. 25 - 27

ËÄÉ«AV freshmen will experience a new way to know and love their campus, thanks to Ace’s Amazing Race Aug. 25 – 27. The fun begins Monday, Aug. 25, at 6 p.m. in Brown Auditorium.

This new campus event is modeled after the CBS television show, "The Amazing Race." Approximately 14 sections (400 students) of Freshman Year Seminar 101 will participate each day.

The event will build school spirit and help new students quickly adapt to life at ËÄÉ«AV, said Coordinator of First Year Experience Mary Elizabeth Sewell. “The purpose of this event is to get students excited about ËÄÉ«AV, to help them become familiar with locations on campus, to build a sense of community, and to promote Warhawk pride.â€

The event will end with a dinner Thursday, Aug. 28, from 4:30 – 6 p.m. that all FRYS students and faculty and beginning freshmen advisors will be invited to. This will be an opportunity for students to meet and mingle with their instructors, advisors, and other freshmen.

Several groups on campus will be involved, including Greek Life, Athletics, and Recruitment and Admissions.
