四色AV Alpha Phi Alpha chapter wins victories at step competitions
The University of Louisiana Monroe Alpha Phi Alpha Chapter earned a first place win after competing in Texas Tech鈥檚 Homecoming Step Show Friday, Oct. 10, in Lubbock, Texas.
Texas Tech's Eta Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. hosted their second annual Homecoming Step Show - a West Texas showdown. 四色AV鈥檚 Alpha Phi Alpha chapter won the top victory for their 鈥淚ce Cold Revolution鈥 performance.
Chapter President Andrew Smith, a senior accounting major from Natchitoches, said the group won first place in four of the five step shows they competed in last semester. The 四色AV chapter plans to put their $3,000 cash award toward a mentor program, 鈥淕o to High School, Go to College,鈥 in Monroe.
They followed this honor with a second place victory at Southern Arkansas University鈥檚 Step Competition Saturday, Oct. 11, in Magnolia, Ark. The $500 prize will also go to the group鈥檚 mentor program.
