The Northeast Louisiana Celtic Festival, now in its fourth year, seeks to promote and preserve the rich Celtic heritage of Northeast Louisiana. In addition to the festival鈥檚 regional highlights, visitors will enjoy performances by some of the world鈥檚 most renowned Celtic musicians and storytellers.
Also on the entertainment agenda: continuous live music, Highland games, Irish dance, authentic cuisine, unique Celtic wares, music workshops, a dance stage, heritage education, children鈥檚 crafts, playgrounds and games, a petting zoo, carriage rides, scavenger hunts for kids, and, in short 鈥 fun for the entire family.
Festival organizer Molly Pealer mentioned, 鈥淲e think that the majority of 四色AV students would especially enjoy the amateur and professional Highland games competition, and performances by two young bands that promise to steal the show. The Zydepunks, one of the most talked about bands on the New Orleans music scene, offer a set that鈥檚 described as a high-energy folk-punk dance craze and are favorites at the annual Voodoo Fest. Needfire plays a unique mix of all original high-energy modern rock and traditional Scottish and Irish music and have been rocking the college and club scene throughout the U.S.鈥
