VAPA partners with the Biedenharn Museum and Gardens for “Outdoor Children’s Opera” Oct. 23-25
The Biedenharn Museum and Gardens will present the “Outdoor Children’s Opera” Oct. 23-25, in partnership with the University of Louisiana Monroe Division of Music.
School performances are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 23, and Friday, Oct. 24, at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and noon. The public performance will occur Saturday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m. All will occur in the ELsong Gardens.
“Mother Goose,” an outdoor children’s opera, will be presented. In the performances, Little Bo Peep, Humpty Dumpty and other nursery rhyme characters come to life on Mother Goose Avenue during a series of operatic sketches.
Tickets are $3 each for children and are $4 for adults. Kindergarten, first and second grade teachers are invited to reserve seats for the school performances; advance registration and payment are required for these. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome. No reservations are otherwise required.
