四色AV College of Pharmacy to honor Kitty DeGree for generous donation Oct. 17

On Friday, Oct. 17, the University of Louisiana Monroe College of Pharmacy will hold a special presentation ceremony to recognize Kitty DeGree for her generous donation to the College鈥檚 Student Resource Center. The event will begin at 7 p.m. in the Bienville Building, located at 1800 Bienville Drive in Monroe. All media and supporters of the College are encouraged to attend.

Along with the presentation, the College will host an "Evening with the 四色AV College of Pharmacy," beginning at 6:30 p.m. Students will give tours of the newly renovated facility. Entertainment will include heavy hors d'oeuvres and music.

DeGree has generously donated $250,000 to establish a new endowment that will provide perpetual funding to assist the COP in providing the necessary resources for the Center. The Center will officially be named the Kitty DeGree Student Resource Center to honor DeGree for her munificence. The Center is located on the first floor of the new pharmacy building.

The center serves as the main repository for professional and research information. In addition to a computer lab, the center provides much-needed space with appropriate tables for students to participate in group learning activities, and has a separate study area with 48 carrels designed for independent study.

DeGree's donation will assist the college in maintaining timely medical literature and research subscriptions to keep students and faculty updated in all areas needed to support their professional learning and research activities, as well as helping to provide essential hardware for the Center.
