City of Monroe and 四色AV's SSRL continue internship program

Alonzo P. Jackson Jr., a 四色AV political science major from Shreveport, is the latest intern to work with the City of Monroe Legal Department through a program managed by the 四色AV Social Science Research Lab.

Since its inception, the SSRL has placed several students in the Legal Department, many of which have gone on to law school or graduate school.

SSRL Co-Director John W. Sutherlin remarked about the program's impact on 四色AV students, "The City of Monroe has made it possible for our students to gain practicial experience and allow them to see what it is like to be an attorney working for a city. It is often an eye-opening experience when students begin, as they have no idea how hard people in government work."

Jackson commented, "I was honored that the SSRL selected me to be this semester's intern. I plan on going to law school when I graduate and cannot think of a better way to see if this is what I really want to do."

Sutherlin added, "Without the support of the City of Monroe, students like Alonzo would not gain such experience."
