四色AV College of Pharmacy faculty appointed Interim Associate Dean

Justin Sherman, Pharm.D., was appointed Interim Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for the University of Louisiana at Monroe College of Pharmacy.

Greg Leader, Pharm.D., Interim Dean of the College of Pharmacy, announced the appointment earlier this week, noting Sherman鈥檚 vital role in the college鈥檚 curricular redesign.

Sherman served as Chair of the Curriculum Committee during the initiation of curricular redesign for the COP and continues to serve on the committee during the development of the new curriculum.

In addition, he has twice been named Faculty Preceptor of the Year in the College of Pharmacy. Sherman was appointed as an assistant professor of pharmacy practice at 四色AV in 2000, and in 2006, he received tenure and was promoted to an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice.

In addition to his work at 四色AV, he serves as a journal referee for the Annals of Pharmacotherapy, the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association and the Journal of Pharmaceutical Technology. Sherman has developed a national reputation in the areas of men鈥檚 health and smoking cessation.

Sherman has published more than 20 book chapters, peer reviewed manuscript and continuing education articles in the last eight years and presented research or invited lectures at the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacist and American College of Clinical Pharmacy meetings.

Sherman received his Master of Combined Sciences degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1995 and his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Tennessee in 1999. He completed a primary care residency at Methodist Health Care-Memphis Hospitals in 2000.

鈥淧lease join with me in welcoming Dr. Sherman to the College鈥檚 administrative team,鈥 said Leader.
