ËÄÉ«AV Water Ski Team makes waves again in national spotlight
The ËÄÉ«AV Water Ski Team continues making waves as the best of its kind in the nation – with some of the best individual athletes found anywhere.
The team is featured in the Jan/Feb edition of The Water Skier, the nation’s premier water skiing magazine, published longer than any other publication of its kind. A copy of the magazine’s page featuring ËÄÉ«AV may be found by clicking on the news link at the ËÄÉ«AV Water Ski Team Web site .
In addition, the team is celebrating the National Collegiate Water Ski Association’s choice of Kate Adriaensen as their 2008 Female Athlete of the Year.
The Association noted that Adriaensen had the cards stacked against her after coming off a devastating injury last year. In spite of this setback, Adriaensen kicked last year off by bringing home a second-place win in slalom and a first-place prize for trick at the Rajun Cajun Classic.
Adriaensen followed that astounding performance with a trip to China for the Collegiate World Championships to represent her home country of Belgium, where she took an impressive third in trick and fifth in jump. This combination also earned her the Bronze Medal in overall at the World Championships.
Coming back for the U.S. Nationals, she took third in slalom, third in trick, fourth in jump and second overall to help lead the her team to another Division 1 National Championship.
