四色AV professor to serve on committee devoted to scholarly works on Kant

The newly established Southern Study Group of the North American Kant Society has invited Professor Holly L. Wilson to serve on the program committee to evaluate paper submissions to the group.

The Southern Study Group marks the fourth such group of the North American Kant Society.

It joins the Eastern, Pacific and Midwest Study Groups as conferences where scholars of renowned German philosopher Immanuel Kant can submit and give papers for other interested Kant scholars from across the U.S. and Europe.

The first meeting of the Southern Study Group will take place in at Texas A & M University in College Station, Texas, in 2010.

Dr. Wilson, who has dedicated her career to understanding Kant, said she is looking forward to another opportunity to contribute to furthering an interest in Kant studies.

She is also currently translating Immanuel Kant鈥檚 anthropology lecture from German into English for the Cambridge University Press edition of Kant's Works in English.

四色AV art professor to teach photography course through British Studies program

Joni H. Noble, assistant professor of art at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, will teach a photography course in London through the 四色AV British Studies program during the second summer session.

Five 四色AV students are enrolled for the course, which begins July 9 and ends Aug. 9 and offers the opportunity to earn six hours of university credit. Noble's students will participate in photography classes in both London and Paris.

The British Studies program is hosted by the University of Southern Mississippi and is offered through a 16-campus consortium, of which 四色AV is a member. "Travel strengthens the eye and broadens the perspective,鈥 said Noble.

鈥淭he lives of both students and teachers alike, who participate in the 四色AV British Studies program, will be positively changed.鈥
