KEDM 90.3 FM wins news awards
KEDM 90.3 FM, Northeast Louisiana’s only public radio station, located on the campus of the University of Louisiana at Monroe, took 18 awards in the 2008 Louisiana Associated Press Broadcaster’s Association Competition.
KEDM News Director Sunny Meriwether won first place in the prestigious Best Newscast, Story of the Year, and Reporter of the Year categories. Meriwether also swept first, second and third place awards in General News, Feature, Public Affairs, and Use of Sound, and a first place award in Spot News.
Former KEDM student staffer Rob Redding took first place in Radio Website, and KEDM Meteorologist Jarrod Floyd and former Operations Manager Ray Davidson won first place in Breaking Weather.
KEDM 90.3 FM recently celebrated its 18th anniversary of service as Northeast Louisiana’s only public radio station.
