ËÄÉ«AV student named Miss Louisiana; two more ËÄÉ«AV students named finalists

Katherine Putnam, a senior at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, was crowned Miss Louisiana 2009 at the Monroe Civic Center Saturday evening.

Putnam, a piano performance major from Monroe, played the "Hallelujah Chorus." Her platform is the Miracle of Music. The daughter of Byron and Heather Putnam, she was named Miss ËÄÉ«AV in 2007 and Miss Shreveport in 2008.

Hope Anderson, a senior ËÄÉ«AV mass communications major from Monroe, was named runner-up and placed in the top five finalists. Anderson, Miss ËÄÉ«AV 2009, won the swimwear and physical fitness competition Friday.

Anderson is the daughter of Alan and Onna Gallagher and of Mike and Brenda Anderson.

Erica Durr, a ËÄÉ«AV toxicology graduate and Miss Bossier City, placed in the top 10. The top 10 were based on the judges’ scores from the two nights of preliminaries and Wednesday’s interview sessions.

Durr is the daughter of David and Tommie Durr.
