Stringer asked to review European scientific journal

“Palaontologische Zeitschrift,” the official scientific journal for the German Paleontological Society located in Stuttgart, Germany, asked Dr. Gary L. Stringer, professor of geology and head of the University of Louisiana at Monroe Department of Geosciences, to review a manuscript for publication.

The article’s title is "First record of the extinct sawfish Propristis schweinfurthi Dames, 1883 (Batoidea: Pristiformes: Pristidae) from the middle Eocene of Spain" and is written by Dr. Francesc Farres of Barcelona, Spain, and Dr. Harry Fierstine of San Luis Obispo, Calif.

This is the twelfth European journal in paleontology to request Stringer's services as a scientific reviewer. He has previously examined notable European journals such as “Paleovertebrata,” “Revue for Micropaleontologie,” and “Geobios.” Scientific reviews have included journals from France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Poland, and Belgium.
