四色AV radiology department celebrates National Radiologic Technology Week Nov. 8 - 13
The University of Louisiana鈥檚 Department of Radiologic Technology will celebrate National Radiologic Technology Week from Nov. 8-13.
The celebration commemorates the discovery of X-ray technology by William Roentgen on Nov. 8, 1895, as well as recognizing imaging professionals practicing in radiologic sciences.
The American Society of Radiologic Technologists was responsible for creating the celebration as a way to recognize radiology achievements throughout history. Here at 四色AV, the department and Chi Beta Gamma, the radiologic technology professional student organization, will participate in community service activities to benefit the DeSiard Street Shelter in Monroe.
鈥淭he National Radiologic Technology Week gives thanks to the people who work in the field of Radiologic Technology,鈥 said Brett Bennett, assistant professor of radiologic technology. 鈥淎s a general rule, these people work silently behind the scenes gathering information for the radiologists and other doctors.鈥
鈥淭his week, everyone who has ever needed a technologist鈥檚 services should take a moment to say thank you,鈥 he added.
