四色AV and BPCC sign 2+2 agreement

A new collaboration between the University of Louisiana at Monroe and Bossier Parish Community College offers a unique opportunity for students seeking four-year degrees in health care management.

四色AV President James Cofer and BPCC Chancellor Jim Henderson will sign an Articulation Agreement (2+2) at 1 p.m. in Room 230, Building A, at BPCC., Thursday, Feb. 4.

The agreement, which enables students to earn a two-year Associate of Science in Health Care Management at BPCC and then transfer to 四色AV鈥檚 two-year online Healthcare Management and Marketing program, results in a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management and Marketing upon completion of the 2+2 program.

The new program illustrates 四色AV鈥檚 commitment to 鈥渆xpanding the idea of a university,鈥 Cofer said.

鈥淲e are constantly evolving. With the state鈥檚 declining high school enrollment and tighter admission standards, it is essential we reach out to a different population of students. By offering an online venue, we are educating today鈥檚 鈥渁nytime, anywhere鈥 student and making education more accessible to Louisianans.

This is not the first 2+2 program established by 四色AV. In 2008, 四色AV and Delta Community College implemented a dual admissions program; a two-year associates degree earned at Delta and two years of study earned at 四色AV result in a baccalaureate degree. 四色AV will continue to explore 2+2 initiatives with BPCC and other two-year colleges.

The 2+2 program established between 四色AV and BPCC is supported by a Board of Regents SELECT (Supporting Electronic Learning and Essential Campus Transitions) Grant. Principle Investigators are Raymond Gaines, of BPCC, Luke Dowden of BPCC, and Rhonda Jones of 四色AV.
