ɫAV campus organizers show concern, raise funds for Haiti
Campus organizations at the University of Louisiana at Monroe are reaching out to provide assistance to Haiti.
The Baptist Collegiate Ministry and Wesley Foundation recently held fundraisers. The BCM held a talent show and top chef competition, and the Wesley Foundation used its Tuesday two-dollar lunch as a way to raise money. All proceeds will go to the earthquake victims.
Greek organizations have also been spotted helping out. The Alpha phi Alpha’s organized a clothing and “Pennies for Pennies” change drive and Kappa Alpha Psi also collected money.
Kappa Alpha Psi President El White said that their motive was “to do what we could as quickly as possible because of the mass devastation.”
Other on-campus organizations contributing to the relief effort are Chi Beta Gamma and NAACP.
