KEDM Public Radio in need of listener donations
KEDM Public Radio, 90.3 FM, completed the on-air portion of its spring membership campaign on Saturday, March 20, significantly below the financial level necessary to sustain the station’s present service.
The campaign is continuing, and listeners can still join or renew their station memberships by calling 318-342-5575 or 800-256-4085, or online at .
“Listener contributions are essential to noncommercial public radio,” says University of Louisiana at Monroe Director of University Broadcasting Joel Willer.
“We remain optimistic that KEDM’s listeners will come forward in support of excellence in radio.” Because of previous cost-savings in the station’s behind-the-scenes operations, on-air programming is likely to be impacted should additional budget adjustments become necessary due to a shortfall in listener donations to the station.
Pledges and donations received do not yet pay for existing programming.
The on-air portion of the station’s fundraiser was supported by many community volunteers, as well as numerous local businesses and restaurants.
KEDM programs broad ranges of in-depth coverage of news, cultural and information programs from studios located on the ËÄÉ«AV campus.
