ËÄÉ«AV's Kauffman selected for New Orleans photography exhibition
University of Louisiana at Monroe Professor of Mass Communication Dr. Bette Kauffman has been selected as one of 13 artists for a photography exhibition in New Orleans over the holidays.
Kauffman's work for the juried group show was selected from the membership of the New Orleans Photo Alliance. The members of Alliance work to preserve the rich and diverse culture of the southern region through photography.
Six of her photographs were selected for the "Currents 2010" exhibit. Two are framed pieces from her post–Katrina flood project "Waterline," exhibited in the Louisiana State Archives earlier this fall.
Three other photos are from Kauffman's new series, "iPhone Diary," which explores the capabilities of the iPhone camera.
The Currents 2010 exhibit will be held Nov. 30 – Jan. 2, 2011, at the Crescent City Brewhouse in the French Quarter. The opening reception is scheduled 5 – 7 p.m., Dec. 2, at the Brewhouse, 527 Decatur St., New Orleans.
For more information contact Kauffman at 318-342-1400 or kauffman@ulm.edu.
