LSBDC to hold free small business workshop on hiring compliance Oct. 15
The Louisiana Small Business Development Center, housed at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, will hold a small business workshop to help businesses maintain hiring compliance.
The free workshop will be held from 9 a.m. – noon on Friday, Oct. 15, in the ËÄÉ«AV Administration Building, Room 2-105.
The workshop, "Louisiana Employer Compliance Road Show: Helping Small Businesses Maintaining Hiring Compliance," will provide participants with the most recent updates from employer compliance experts.
Phyllis Bell and Michael Pollard, management programs analysts with the Department of Homeland Security will discuss the importance of recent updates from DHS regarding Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, the E-Verify online system, and Federal Acquisition Regulation requirements on contracts containing the FAR E-Verify clause.
Don Carroum of the Social Security Administration will cover Employer W-2 reporting, the Social Security Number Verification Service, and Online Services for employees.
