四色AV's Director of Broadcasting published by Mellen Press
Joel Willer, director of broadcasting at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, recently contributed a chapter to the book, "Broadcast, Internet and TV Media in the Arab World and Small Nations: Studies in Recent Developments," published by The Edwin Mellen Press.
His chapter, "Using Campus Media to Mentally Position Students for the Emerging Media Delivery Systems," stems from a conference paper he presented on the subject in April 2008 in which 四色AV Alum William G. Covington Jr. was panel moderator. Covington is also co-editor and contributor to the book. Willer's chapter looks at some of the challenges facing domestic student-operated media as it adapts to and integrates new communication technologies.
Mellen Press describes the book as a collection of nine essays in which scholars from diverse backgrounds "discuss how emerging changes in media content and delivery influence culture, education, international relations, and human expectations. It traces global media trends of convergence and competition for a fragmented and diverse audience."
Mellen Press publishes specialized research scholarship including monographs, dictionaries, distinguished dissertations and multi-volume reference sets, among others. The Press also publishes over one hundred continuing series, several academic journals and the research generated by several scholarly institutes.
