Country performers Josh Turner and Sara Evans slated for Spring Fever concert April 8
The University of Louisiana at Monroe Office of Student Life and Leadership has announced mega-country music stars Sara Evans and Josh Turner will perform Friday, April 8, in Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
A one day ticket "pre-sale" for the annual 四色AV Spring Fever concert is Friday, Feb. 18, with tickets available at a $2 discount off regular prices through the following area retailers:
- Patton's Western Wear in Ruston
- J&H Boots and Jeans in West Monroe, and
- La Capitol Federal Credit Union on the 四色AV campus.
Friday's pre-sale event means that ticket prices will range from as low as $15, up to and including $30 tickets for premier seating.
Non-discounted tickets are also available on Friday at .
"四色AV continues to attract some of the biggest names in entertainment to our campus, and this year is no exception," explained Assistant Dean of Student Life and Leadership Nathan Hall.
"Our pre-sale event will be everyone's first chance to get what is sure to be one of the hottest tickets in town."
Concert tickets officially go on sale Monday, Feb. 28.
After the pre-sale event, ticket prices will be $17 for 四色AV students upper section, $22 student floor, $27 for general admissions upper section and $32 for general admissions floor. All tickets are $35 the day of the show. The door opens at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.
Sara Evans, a multi-platinum recording artist honored with numerous accolades, was named the 2006 Academy of Country Music's Female Vocalist of the Year and the Country Music Association's Video of the Year for "Born to Fly."
She has also been named one of People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People" and won the hearts of television viewers as the first country star to compete in the ABC network television program Dancing with the Stars.
Her prolific recording career includes over five million records sold and four chart topping country singles. She recently released the first single, "A Little Bit Stronger" from the upcoming CD "Stronger" to be released on March 8.
Turner, one of the youngest members of the distinguished Grand Ole Opry, is also the youngest member to be inducted into Nashville's Walk of Fame.
The Grammy庐 nominated artist has celebrated back-to-back platinum and gold albums. Hit singles include "Would You Go With Me," "Your Man," "Why Don't We Just Dance," "Firecracker," "Me and God" and "Long Black Train."
He recently launched The Josh Turner Fund, which awarded its second scholarship recipient this year, to demonstrate his passion and support of music and the arts.
