Radiologic Tech professors attend national conference
University of Louisiana at Monroe Assistant Professors Andy Allen and Brett Bennett, of the Department of Radiologic Technology, recently attended the American Society of Radiologic Technologists Annual Governance and House of Delegates Meeting as Louisiana Affiliate Delegates.
The ASRT House of Delegates, which was held in Albuquerque, N.M., June 17-19, is a legislative body that meets annually to debate and vote on motions and proposed changes to the ASRT bylaws, adopt clinical practice and educational standards, adopt position statements, and establish professional standards of practice.
About 150 total delegates attended the meeting, representing approximately 138,000 ASRT members.
Both Allen and Bennett were chosen to attend the ASRT meeting, representing the Louisiana Society of Radiologic Technologists.
Allen currently serves as President of the LSRT, and Bennett currently serves as President elect.
"To be able to represent such a great number of medical imaging professionals from across the nation is a somewhat humbling experience," said Allen.
"I am grateful that I was able to participate and vote on matters that will help improve the quality of our profession."
