四色AV Child Development Center raises funds for St. Jude's Hospital

The University of Louisiana at Monroe's Child Development Center raised $2,605 in its spring semester family community service project.

The Mardi Gras Trike-A-Thon benefitted the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. Director of 四色AV Child Development Center Emily Williamson said the project teaches children about the importance of service to others, tricycle safety and is a great family activity.

Dr. Richard Hood served as Grand Marshall, presenting each Junior Warhawk with a special Ace Mardi Gras necklace.

Mary Crandal, LA4 Coordinator for Ouachita Parish School systems, also joined 四色AV Child Development Center families and several guest 四色AV faculty members for the festivities.

"It was so heartening to see faculty come to the event, even those without children at the center, as a pledge of their support," Williamson said. "I cannot thank them or our parents enough for their generous giving of time."
