四色AV Social Work department head to present in Philadelphia

Dr. Pamela Higgins-Saulsberry, head of the University of Louisiana at Monroe's Social Work department, will present at the 40th Anniversary of the Black Administrators in Child Welfare Conference in Philadelphia on May 17.

The conference theme is "Shaping the Future, Honoring the Past" and speaks to the organization's mission to advocate the special needs of African American children in the child welfare system.

The conference runs May 15 -17.

Saulsberry's workshop, "Disproportionality in Child Death Review Cases: What's Going On?" is based on her research into the disproportionate number of black children under 14 years of age who died in circumstances deemed preventable in child death review cases.

BACW membership is available to administrators, mental health and juvenile justice professionals who provide services to children and families, and to individuals and students interested in child advocacy.
