Jazz Ensemble fall program ready to jazz it up at ɫAV Nov. 17

The University of Louisiana at Monroe Jazz Ensemble will perform its fall program Thursday, Nov. 17 under the direction of Associate Professor Larry Anderson.

The 20-piece big band performs high-energy jazz, Latin-style jazz, funk, and swing music. Featured selections will include “MacArthur Park,” “Begin the Beguine,” “Maria,”  “The Jody Grind,” “Sandunga,” and other selections.

This concert will feature special guest artist Mike Williams, who has been the lead trumpet player with the world-famous Count Basie Orchestra for the past 24 years.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Brown Auditorium. It is free and open to the public.
