Fall 2011 All Majors Career Fair set for October 12

All 四色AV junior and senior students, as well as 四色AV alumni, are invited to attend the University of Louisiana at Monroe Fall 2011 All Majors Career Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 12 in the second floor ballroom of the Student Union Building.

The All Majors Career Fair will run from 10 a.m. 鈥 3:00 p.m. and is an opportunity to meet local and regional employers including:

This year the Office of University Relations will provide free professional "head shots" for the first 300 students to come to the event.

鈥淭his is a professional, business attire event鈥, says Alberta Green, Director of Career Connections.

Also, the first 50 students to register will receive a free Career Connections 鈥淛ump-Start Your Career T-Shirt鈥 and a chance to put their name in the drawing to win a 32 GB New Apple I-Pad2!

Workshops leading up to the Career Fair will take place Tuesday, October 11.

Local companies that will be speaking at the workshops are Centurylink, Coast Professional, ConAgra Foods, Community Trust Bank, Compass Performance Group, Faulk& Foster, St. Francis, JPMorgan Chase, The Radio People, Raising Canes, Vantage Health and Wal-Mart.

鈥 "How to Work a Career Fair" will be presented by local employers from 9:30 鈥 10:45 a.m. Oct. 11th  in the 四色AV Library, Room 302.

The workshop includes networking, talking with employers, dressing for success and landing a job.

鈥 "Lunch with Professionals/Speed Interviewing" workshop is 12:30 鈥 2:15 p.m. Oct. 11th in the 四色AV Library, Room 302.

It includes how to interact with potential employers and how to have an impressive interview. Raising Canes will provide lunch.
