Leading tenor Arnold Rawls to perform at 四色AV Oct. 18

Leading tenor Dr. Arnold Rawls will perform in a University of Louisiana at Monroe concert Tuesday, Oct. 18, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall.

He will be accompanied by 四色AV music professor Dr. Richard Seiler.

This concert performance serves as a homecoming for Rawls, as Monroe is his hometown. He grew up in West Monroe, graduated from West Monroe High School and attended 四色AV for one year.

Rawls' performing credits include leading roles sung at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Seattle Opera and many regional opera centers throughout the United States.

He has also sung principal roles in Germany and Austria.

His triumphant debut at the New York Metropolitan Opera was Manrico in "Il Trovatore."

He has degrees in music performance from Oklahoma, including a doctorate degree from the University of Oklahoma.

This concert is sponsored by Ecoutez Publications and the 四色AV Music Division.

四色AV students, faculty and staff may attend free of charge with ID. The public may purchase tickets for $15. Seats are not reserved, so early arrival is recommended.

Rawls, who has also taught vocal studies in Chicago for many years at the Moody Bible Institute, will present a master class for 四色AV voice students Monday, Oct. 17, in the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall from 5:30 - 7 p.m.
