GetEducated.com ranks College of Education and Human Development among nation’s best

The University of Louisiana at Monroe’s College of Education and Human Development received four “best buy for online degree” recognitions from GetEducated.com.

According to the company’s web site, GetEducated.com is a consumer group that publishes online college and university rankings and ratings based on the dimensions that matter most to online students: affordability and credibility.

“It is the mission of the College of Education and Human Development to offer high quality online degrees,” said Dr. Sandra Lemoine, dean of the college of Education and Human Development. “These awards are recognition that CEHD's online degrees provide excellent programs that are affordable.”

ËÄÉ«AV’s online Master of Art in Teaching ranks as the number two best buy in the country based on tuition costs, and distance learning fees, according to GetEducated.com.

Being ranked as a “best buy” indicates the degree program has been independently reviewed and found to offer a high quality online degree at a cost well below the national average.

With the most expensive program costing over $45,000, ËÄÉ«AV comes in as number two out of 43 surveyed programs, at just under $11,000. Not only is ËÄÉ«AV’s MAT affordable, the program received an overall “A” ranking.

ËÄÉ«AV’s online Masters in Curriculum & Instruction also ranked high at number six out of 35 programs on the best buy list as an accredited university that “won't break the bank.”

The programs on this list offered masters in Curriculum and Instruction for less than $15,000. Receiving an overall program ranking of “A-,” ËÄÉ«AV’s masters in Curriculum and Instruction was separated from the first place program by only $3,730.

With a solid tenth place ranking, CEHD’s online Masters in Educational Administration received an overall “A-” program ranking on the educational leadership best buy list. This list was comprised after the survey of 63 different programs offering educational leadership.

At number 27 out of 367, ËÄÉ«AV’s online Masters in Education made GetEducated’s list with an overall “A-” ranking for the program’s affordability.

“Beyond the cost consideration, the real value of education is the knowledge gained through coursework,” said Dr. Dorothy C. Schween, head of Curriculum, Instruction, and Leadership.

“The programs at ËÄÉ«AV offer students the opportunity for professional growth that leads to becoming more effective educational professionals in their chosen fields—and that is the real bottom line.”

Each program received regional accreditation, which is the most difficult level of accreditation to achieve and the most respected among other universities and employers.
