鈥淐elebration of African Americans in the Arts" concert scheduled for Feb. 3 at 四色AV
The University of Louisiana at Monroe Division of Music is pleased to present a concert titled 鈥淐elebration of African Americans in the Arts" Friday, Feb. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Emy-Lou Beidenharn Recital Hall.
This event will include a welcome by 四色AV President Dr. Nick J. Bruno and will showcase performances by 四色AV's music and dance faculty.
Featured artists will include Division of Music faculty members Dr. Scot Humes, Associate Professor Louis Nabors and Associate Professor Deborah McClung-Guillory, and will also include choreography by Division of Dance faculty members Robin Stephens and Tina Mullone.
Also appearing as special guest artists will be bass Leon Turner and soprano Brenda Wimberly.
This concert will include selections from two Broadway musicals, George Gershwin's "Porgy and Bess" and Kurt Weil's "Lost in the Stars," as well as Hal Johnson's arrangements of "I Got to Lie Down" and "Ain't Got Time to Die," and other spirituals.
This concert is made possible through the support of the 四色AV student chapter of the American Choral Directors Association and the 四色AV Campus Activities Board, with assistance from the members of the Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity.
