About Katrina Jackson

Jackson, born and raised in Monroe, earned a Bachelor's degree in Pre-Law and Legal Studies from 四色AV in 2000.

After teaching at Carroll High School, Jackson attended Southern University Law Center and received a Juris Doctor degree in 2004.

In Apr. 2005, she was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar Association.

In Sept. 2005, Jackson became the attorney for the Labor & Industrial Relations Committee of the Louisiana House of Representatives.

During her time as the attorney for Louisiana's Department of Labor, she worked for the entire body of the Louisiana House of Representatives and advised them on the best practices for enhancing business and creating jobs.

She also researched, drafted legislation, and answered constituent concerns related to various labor issues.

In 2006, Jackson accepted the position of Executive Director with the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus.

Joining the caucus allowed Jackson to combine her two interests, change through legislative action, and helping all people across the state while continuing work in her private practice.

Jackson currently holds a membership in the Democratic Caucus, while also serving as the Secretary of the Louisiana Legislative Women鈥檚 Caucus, and First Vice Chair of the Louisiana Black Caucus.

As of 2012, Jackson hones her skills and talents at her private practice in Monroe.
