四色AV announces technology challenge winners

The University of Louisiana at Monroe recently hosted the 8th annual Louisiana High School Online Technology Challenge. High school teams across Louisiana participated in the online competition, which encourages high school students to prepare for Louisiana's future through the use of technology. CenturyLink served as the title sponsor of the event.

Any high school in Louisiana was eligible to participate in this educational event by registering a 15-member student team.

Since 2006, approximately 4,700 high school students have participated in the event, which is held 鈥渧irtually鈥 during regular school hours.

Teams were asked to create a flier or bulletin promoting an event or cause using online resources, and page-building applications.

Teams submitted their work online and submission were viewed and scored online by various judges from across the state.

The five highest-scoring teams were honored for their submissions.

First place was awarded to Carencro High School, in Lafayette Parish, under the direction of team coach Donna Denny.

Second place was awarded to Mount Carmel Academy in Orleans Parish, under the direction of team coach Kathy Pennison.

Third place was awarded to St. Thomas More Catholic High School in Lafayette Parish, under the direction of team coach, Robin Herrington.

Fourth place went to Dunham School in East Baton Rouge Parish, under the direction of team coach Katy Ullrich, and fifth place went to St. Joseph's Academy, in East Baton Parish, under the direction of team coach John Richardson.
