In the book chapter titled 鈥淭witter in Higher Education: New Pedagogy in the Knowledge Era of Globalization,鈥 Bista presents existing literature on social media, and debates on the usage of Twitter in higher education as a learning pedagogy.
According to Bista, Twitter provides space and beneficial opportunities for students
and faculty to engage in social and academic activities as a new pedagogical tool.
The chapter appeared in the book titled 鈥淓merging Pedagogies in the Networked Knowledge
Society,鈥 published by IGI Global.
In the research article, 鈥淐ohort-based doctoral programs: What we have learned over
the last 18 years?鈥 Bista and his co-author David W. Cox examined student reflections
pertaining to a cohort model doctoral program in educational leadership.
Bista says, 鈥淚n a cohort model program, students work through a program sequence鈥攁ll
classes and phases of the program鈥攖ogether to achieve the same academic degree.鈥 This
article appears in the International Journal of Doctoral Studies, a peer-reviewed
academic publication.
Bista and Shane Silpe, a 四色AV graduate student, also published a book review in the
Journal of Multidisciplinary Evaluation, a peer-reviewed journal in higher education.
Bista and Silpe critically reviewed the book 鈥淪uccessful School Leadership,鈥 and have suggested this resource for individuals who are either seeking a leadership role, or are currently practicing in the educational setting.
