四色AV computer science honor society inducts new members

The University of Louisiana at Monroe Chapter of Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE), the International Computer Science Honor Society, recently held its annual induction ceremony.

The new members inducted are Taylor Stutts from Oak Grove; Kaylen Tannehill from West Monroe; and Heather Terrell from Colfax.

Chris Flowers, Kyle McVay and Sailesh Waigle, three computer science seniors who are active members of UPE, conducted the ceremony.

Dr. Jose Cordova, computer science program coordinator said, 鈥淎dmission into UPE represents a major achievement for these students, who have now joined a very prestigious group of outstanding computer scientists throughout the world.鈥

Membership requirements are stringent and include a student earning at least a 3.2 grade point average (GPA) in computer science coursework, and an overall GPA of at least 3.0. The mission of UPE is to recognize academic excellence in the computing and information disciplines.
