MONROE, La. 鈥 The University of Louisiana Monroe fraternity Pi Kappa Alpha was presented the Community Service Award by the Monroe / West Monroe Convention and Visitor鈥檚 Bureau during its May 5th luncheon.聽
The group was recognized for such projects as the Christmas light display, Mardi Gras Parade, and Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Day.聽Members collectively donated over 5300 hours to local organizations for the 2015-16 academic year.聽
鈥淧i Kappa Alpha fraternity answers the bell in our community when there is a need for volunteers and community service,鈥 said Alana Cooper, President/CEO of Monroe/West Monroe Convention and Visitor鈥檚 Bureau.聽
Louisiana Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser presented the community service award to Josh Usie, Pi Kappa Alpha鈥檚 Vice President.
