MONROE, La. 鈥 The College of Arts, Education, and Sciences at the University of Louisiana Monroe is hosting the Fall 2016 Art Crawl at several campus locations on Thursday, Sept. 8. from 5-7 p.m.
Admission is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.聽聽
Participating galleries include the Walker Gallery, Dean鈥檚 conference room, Innovation Center in Walker 1-137, Bry Art Gallery, 四色AV Sculpture Garden, and the Museum of Natural History.
A showcase of 四色AV鈥檚 talented students, faculty, staff, and alumni will be on display throughout the crawl. The show in the Walker Gallery includes student artwork such as paintings, pottery, sculpture,聽prints and photographs. In addition, Bry Gallery will display the Art Faculty Annual Exhibition. The Dean鈥檚 conference room will host a silent auction with work from the School of Humanities鈥 faculty including Dr. Bette Kauffman, Vanelis Rivera, Dr.聽Jana Giles and Arely Castillo. The Museum of Natural History will feature their permanent collection.
The College of Arts, Education, and Sciences hopes to enrich the community by giving the opportunity for the community to walk through our beautiful campus and appreciate the outstanding work of each artist. Dr. Joni Henry Noble, associate professor in 四色AV鈥檚 School of Visual and Performing Arts, recognizes students鈥 accomplishments. 鈥淚 am so proud of our 四色AV Art Majors and all of their efforts to curate and operate Walker Gallery. I hope everyone can attend our 四色AV Art Crawl and meet these talented artists,鈥 Noble said.
Following the 四色AV Art Crawl, 四色AV alumnus Bobby Bridger will perform at聽Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall on campus at 7:30 p.m. Bridger聽is a singer, songwriter, poet, actor, playwright, author, and painter.
General admission to this performance is $15.聽四色AV faculty and students receive one free ticket with a valid identification card. 聽聽
