Library Director Megan Lowe with her new book.
Libraries have made tremendous changes as demand and technology has dictated.听At 四色AV,
for example, what were the book 鈥渟tacks鈥澨齛re now student study areas.听Many of the
hardback books have migrated to online materials.
鈥淭he book grew out of another publication my co-author and I worked on examining the
emotional experiences of librarians. Librarianship is very people-oriented work, making
librarians prone to burnout,鈥 Lowe explained. 鈥淲e wanted to get a better understanding
of the emotional experiences of academic librarians as a means of identifying solutions
and supporting those librarians in their careers.鈥
