The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a severe weather threat for all of north Louisiana beginning late Monday afternoon through early Tuesday afternoon.

All severe thunderstorm hazards are possible, including golf-ball-size hail, damaging winds of 70-80 mph, periods of heavy rainfall that could bring flooding, and isolated tornadoes. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect through 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The NWS predicts the heaviest rain in the Ouachita Parish area to begin around 7 a.m. Tuesday and begin diminishing in the afternoon.

Know where to take shelter during a tornado warning, and if you must travel, do not drive through flooded areas.
